Mississippi DTC Application Available

Mississippi Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) is now accepting applications for direct wine shipper permits online via its TAP system. The permit has an annual fee of $100 and allows the holder to ship wine containing more than 5% alcohol by weight (or 6.25% ABV) to adult residents for personal consumption. Shipments per winery cannot exceed 12 cases per address per calendar year. The entire state is wet for possession and direct shipment of wine. Note that the direct shipment of wines offered for distribution through the state ABC warehouse is prohibited except for wines that are designated as highly allocated. Direct-to-consumer (DTC) orders for allocated wines may not be filled until the state allocations are completed. A list of items that must be included with the application is available here. More information on the new DTC program, including tax and reporting requirements, may be found on the ABC section of the Mississippi Department of Revenue website and Wine Institute MS DTC web page.
