Wine Community Diversity Initiative with the McBride Sisters Collection

On Oct. 22, 2021, Wine Institute held a Wine Community Diversity Initiative webinar with the McBride Sisters Collective. CEO Andréa McBride John and President Robin McBride, along with Chief Impact Officer Agnes Uboma, joined Wine Institute members and staff to discuss their SHECAN initiative, which is dedicated to closing the race and gender gap in leadership positions in the wine industry. They are working to do this by providing professional development scholarships and grants to emerging women leaders. The McBride sisters are now looking to partner with members of the wine community, as well as Historically Black Colleges and Universities to help support the #YESSHECAN2021 campaign, which will fund grants and scholarships in areas of viticulture, small fruit research, fermentation sciences and the wine business.
