Update on Winery Registration for Export to China

All wineries exporting to China are required to register with China’s General Administration of Customs. As an update from previous communications on how to register, Wine Institute advises of a change in the implementation date. Previously, facility registration applied to all wines arriving in China on Jan. 1, 2022. The Chinese government has changed this policy to apply to all wines leaving a U.S. port on Jan. 1, 2022.Wines shipped in the new year must indicate a registration number from the process or use the FDA Facility Establishment Identifier on customs declaration forms. China’s revision of the implementation date should give wineries more time to complete the registration process.
