Seeking Member Input: FAIR Plan Effectiveness

Wine Institute has been asked to participate in a Department of Insurance hearing on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, in Oakland to look into how the Fair Access to Insurance Requirements (FAIR) Plan can further evolve to meet consumer and business needs.

We’re reaching out to members for input/feedback on or experiences with the FAIR Plan that could help it improve as part of our testimony. Comments will remain anonymous unless permission for attribution is explicitly provided. Please provide comments to Tim Schmeltzer in the Sacramento office.

As the “insurer of last resort” established in 1968 by the governor and legislature to serve all Californians, the FAIR Plan’s fundamental mission is to meet the needs of California homeowners and businesses unable to find insurance in the traditional marketplace.
