Register for Webinar on China’s New Food Facility Registration Process

Wine Institute and the California Wine Export Program are hosting a webinar on Dec. 8, 2021, at 4:30 p.m. to help explain China’s new food facility registration requirement. All wines entering China starting on Jan. 1, 2022, must be produced in facilities registered with China’s General Administration of Customs. In addition, there is a labeling requirement that wine labels must carry the Chinese or U.S. registration number on the inner and outer packaging. The U.S. government summarized the requirement in a GAIN report that includes a guide to the registration websiteWe are partnering with a local expert, Edison Tang of Food-Coordinate, to further help guide wineries through the registration website. While the site is currently only available in Chinese, Tang will explain what information is required for each question. With Tang’s knowledge of U.S. and Chinese regulations, we are hopeful that the registration process will go smoothly. The webinar will include time for questions and answers and will be recorded and shared for later reference.
