Sustainability and the Wine Sector: Marketplace Opportunities & Challenges

You are invited to attend the third Transatlantic Symposium on Wine Law and Policy to be held virtually on May 2, 2023, at 9-10:30 a.m. PST. The symposium will focus on the opportunities and challenges for sustainably produced wine in European and North American markets, and the role that wineries and monopolies play in advancing wine sustainability. It is organized by Wine Institute and Wine and Law Program – A Jean Monnet Chair (University of Reims).

Presenters will focus on U.S., Canadian and European perspectives:

  • Tracy Genesen, vice president & general counsel, Wine Institute
  • Theodore Georgopoulos, president of the Georges Chappaz Institute for Vine and Wine in Champagne, director of the Wine & Law Program (Reims) and Casalonga Law Firm (Paris)
  • Allison Jordan, vice president, Environmental Affairs, Wine Institute and executive director, California Sustainable Winegrowing Alliance
  • George Soleas, president & CEO of the LCBO
