Labs for Smoke Exposure Testing of Wine and Winegrapes

As wildfire season continues to become longer and more severe, Wine Institute remains committed to supporting our members and the industry during wildfire season. We continuously develop educational resources to help guide and support our members in wildfire preparedness efforts. Resources available on our website currently include guides, webinars, resources for grants and insurance and suggested labs for testing smoke exposure (more info on labs below).

Wine Institute’s Technical Advisory Committee is prioritizing work on advancing science in the areas of smoke measurement, mitigation and prevention. We have identified domestic and international laboratories with capacity to test for smoke exposure in wine and winegrapes. We encourage that wineries directly contact the laboratories with questions and for additional details on submitting samples.
