Celebrate Sustainability: Be a Part of Down to Earth Month

We’re gearing up for our annual Down to Earth Month celebration, when Wine Institute highlights and celebrates California’s sustainable viticulture and winemaking leadership.

Along with directing consumers to the Discover California Wines calendar of Down to Earth Month events (please submit them via this link), we will be highlighting fun and unique sustainability-related experiences and activities that California wineries offer on a regular basis, or at least seasonally. For example:

  • Eco-friendly vineyard experiences, including hands-on activities like mustard planting
  • Organic garden tours or gardening workshops, including fruit tree pruning
  • Behind-the-scenes cellar tours at a sustainable winery
  • Culinary experiences highlighting ingredients from the organic winery garden
  • Picnic basket add-ons featuring organic food to enjoy with sustainable wines
  • Blending workshops featuring sustainable or organic wines.
  • These can also be fun, immersive activities that are not necessarily focused on sustainability but take place at a winery committed to sustainable practices.

Please submit events*, activities and offers by March 13, 2026, through the Discover California Wines website so they will be added io the calendar before the launch of the news release. Note that submissions can continue to be made throughout April.

    * Events must include Wine Institute members. Wine retailer and restaurant events cannot be accepted due to California ABC restrictions.
