Board of Directors Meeting

Wine Institute held its Spring Board of Directors Meeting March 10-11, 2025, at The Sutter Club in Sacramento. A legislative reception on March 10 drew government officials and staff together to network with Wine Institute officers, members and staff.

The March 11 meeting featured guest speakers, including Senate President Pro Tempore Mike McGuire and Assemblyman Chris Rogers, briefings on State Relations and California policy, updates on the Dietary Guidelines and the administration’s trade agenda, an overview from our Technical Advisory Committee (WITAC), status updates on the sustainability certification program and new export data and a key presentation on our multifaceted Cultivating Togetherness initiative to provide research, insights, strategies and assets to wineries and partners. We also announced the hiring of our new Vice President of Communications Julie Berge.

The board approved the following new members.

• Pius Estates – Paso Robles (San Luis Obispo County)

Associate Members:

• Cedar Street Wine Consulting – Calistoga (Napa County): Provides consulting, sales and marketing insights and solutions for small wineries.
• Lumo – Santa Rosa (Sonoma County): Offers smart irrigation valves with built-in sensors that let farmers
