Wine Institute & Avalara Collaboration

Beginning in February of 2018, Wine Institute and Compli (Compli was acquired by Avalara in January of 2019) partnered to provide current and accurate information about compliance rules for US wineries. The “State Shipping Laws for Wineries” portal is a collaboration between the compliance professionals at Avalara and the State Relations team at Wine Institute. State rules and headlines are kept current by both teams to provide the most up to date and accurate source of information on shipping within the US. The information is applicable to all bonded wineries located in California and is provided as an informational aid, not legal advice.

With the new site, direct shipping rules are made available publicly to all industry members and the public at large. Wine Institute members also receive members-only content that includes all new information on wholesale and direct-to-trade shipping laws throughout the United States.
