Summary

The Utah Department of Alcoholic Beverage Services (DABS) operates a statewide network of state stores and package agencies that sell all alcoholic beverages, except beer containing less than 4% alcohol by volume (which is sold in grocery and convenience stores) and administers the liquor laws, alcohol education, and regulates the sale, service, storage, manufacture, distribution, and consumption of alcoholic products.

Only the Department may lawfully have liquor products imported and shipped into Utah. Private individuals may not lawfully import or transport them into the state. Manufacturers and suppliers of these products may only supply them to the DABC. All purchases for on premise licenses are done through the state system.

Pricing for products is the same throughout the entire state.
