The following state-by-state requirements list is an overview of basic requirements for wineries to ship out of state, including permitting, label registration and reporting.

Supplier License:  A supplier must obtain a license from the state in order to sell and ship to licensed wholesalers in the state.

Fee: The cost to obtain the permit/license.

Bond: The holder of a supplier license is required to furnish a bond.

Product Reg: Requirement to officially register and submit a brand and/or label to appropriate agency for approval before shipping such product into the state for wholesale distribution.

Shipment Reports: A report of products shipped to wholesalers in the state in a given period must be filed.

Self- Distribution: Refers to the ability of an out-of-state winery to act as their own wholesaler by selling directly to retail and restaurant accounts.
