This Earth Day, April 22nd, Top 10 Reasons Unveiled Why California Wines are Eco-Friendly
ANCHOR LEAD: Eco-friendly products may be more popular than ever these days, and that also extends to the finer things in life. All the way to the wines we drink. Kendra Wright has more on the top reasons California wines may be better at helping the planet "age to perfection." SCRIPT: Lifestyles, I'm Kendra Wright. The idea of "going green" may be on everybody's lips, but California vintners and growers are reminding us we can also savor "going red or white." Karen Ross is President of the California Association of Winegrape Growers. CUT: (Ross) Protecting the environment is a priority for the California wine industry. In honor of Earth Day 2008, the Wine Institute and the California Association of Winegrape Growers have developed the "Top 10 Reasons California Wines are an Eco-Friendly Choice." SCRIPT: Michael Honig of Honig Vineyard and Winery says the list lets people know that California grows and makes earth-friendly wines. CUT: (Honig) People may be interested to know we've embraced alternative energy sources like solar and biodegradable fuel.
